It was also released that the CDK global attack was perpetrated by an "Eastern European" hacking organization. It was a ransomware attack and they are asking for tens of millions of dollars for the data to be released back unaltered. After hearing that my first question was could these be state actors? Could these cyber crime organizations be sponsored by the state of Ukraine in order to funnel money into war efforts?? This seems like it could be likely. And these large companies being hacked are not isolated events nor unsophisticated.
